Scooby Sport Downpipe
#1
I have recently purchased a second hand ss dp for my 95wrx! I need a bit of help before fitting it though. I believe there are 2 sensors on my car? a thermo sensor and a lambda sensor. On the dp I only have one hole, so is it the lambda sensor that goes in there? what about the thermo sensor, do i disconect it? is it required? also is there a way to reduce my emissions without replacing the cat for mot tests. Any help appreciated. TA

I've just fitted a full S/S system to my 94 WRX. My lambda sensor is in the exhaust manifold, before the gases get to the turbo.
S/S supplied me with a 'plug' for the hole in the downpipe as it's apparently not needed on the earlier cars. I think the lambda sensor goes there on later cars??
My car had an exhaust temp sensor, which is apparently not needed, so this is now disconnected.
However, my car hasn't been running properly since I fitted the exhaust. I acknowledge there's no problem with the product itself, but it seems to be causing me huge probs with my control solenoid, so let me know how you get on with yours!!
Steve.

As the law currently stands, you don't need a CAT on a 95WRX to pass emissions.
If the MOT tester hasn't got the exact model of car on his list i.e. a 1995 Impreza WRX, he has to test it as a.....can't remember the exact definition....but it's as a basic non-cat car.
He'll try to test is as a UK Impreza Turbo, but he's not allowed to.
I called the Ministry of Transport and they rang the MOT tester guy and explained this to him and told him to pass the car!!!
