At some point in the future looking to upgrade my brakes (on the P1). Clearly the Prodrive ones are the usual choice..but I'm looking to get a cheaper upgrade that will offer nearly as much......
I was considering different discs (295mm)......any recommendations ??, different pads - fast road/track - suggestions ?? and finally braided hoses.....any ideas...??
Has anyone gone along this route and what are your opinions......
thanks

Just doing the same on my MY00 at the moment. Gone for Pagid 8 groove disks / Pagid blue pads, braided hoses and uprated fluid. Calipers to follow. Have a look at

What about EBC grooved and dimpled discs and redstuff pads from TN @ £280 total (assuming they fit a P1).
Its what I fitted as a cheap interim til I can afford APs. Still bedding in so no opinion yet.

Scoobysport group N+ discs seem to come highly recommended as a fast road/trac compromise setup for those on a budget,or not requiring a full trac setup but wanting to improve on the standard setup...

I have a MY97 UK turbo, so the disks are slightly smaller than yours. But, I have just fitted Scoobysports Group N, Pagid disk and pad set and can report vast improvements . I am still bedding them in (only done 250ish miles) but can still notice a great improvment in feel and retardation. I say go for it. I looked into other combinations but this was the only disk setup that people weren't warping after hard use. Good price too!

Hi Lads
The prices are
Grp N Grey iron Disc £188
DS 4003 Pads £141
Labour to fit and bed in!! £37.50
Thats £366.50 plus Vodka and tonic.. Quite cheap for seat belt bruising really.
If you're feeling flush, pop the Goodridge hoses on for £69 and get a lovely pedal n all
Hope to see some of you down here, You are always welcome to take our car out, with this set up on before you part with your hard earned.
Cheers
Paul.
