clonk from rear after hard cornering

during a lunchtime thrash, i put the my01 wrx into a big roundabout at a fair rate of knots and as the 4 wheel slide was underway, floored the throttle and got a nice power slide out of the car !!
when the car had straightened up, i heard one loud clonk coming from the rear (left i think). anyone got any ideas what this might be ??

Seriously though - no idea. Although I seem to remember someone else posting something else about this a while ago - so it might be worth a search ?

Maybe daft answer, but have a look and see if your jack is tight. Its on the left side of the boot.
Dunno about MY01, but thats where it is in MY00 and before.
May also be exhaust moving about.
Otherwise its probably suspension - loose link, duff bush, something like that.
