Question

Have had my kit delivered, but the replacement hose going from the MAF box to the existing inlet pipe, is too small in diameter to go around the MAF box.

Has anyone come across this before? Any hints/tips?

Didn't have any bother with mine.Have they sent the right kit?
The filter is fixed to an adaptor that in turn is screwed directly to the MAF box.The hose to connect this to the engine side has a narrow end that fits to the engine and a wider end that goes over the MAF box. It has a very slight bend ~15degrees so the new filter fits in the space where the filter box was.
Does that sound like what you've got?
I think it was a pretty tight fit to the MAF.
Hope you get it sorted out the wait is worth it for the noise.
Happy whooshing

Doogsy,

Yeah, sounds like what I've got. Says it's for a 99 on the box. How tight a fit? The narrower end slots on easily, but I just can't seem to get the wider end over the MAF box.

Cheers

Cheers James, that's what I thought might work - I'll probably have a go this afternoon - did you just use boiling water?

Matt
I've had the kit on for about 6 months now on a my99. I had a similiar problem, the best way to fit the hosing on was to heat it up, (not with a blow torch mind). Another thing, put some tape around the accelerator cable casing, as when it rests on the metal connector ring it starts to chaff the surface.
Hope this helps

Matt, I stuck it in the oven for about 5 mins on a baking tray!!
You might have to re-plum some of the smaller hoses to fit snuggly under the kit also.
Cheers
James
