Scoobymania centre + SS backbox?
#1
Just wondered if a Scoobymania centrepipe will fit my Scoobysport backbox ?!?
Price seems fair enough at £53 incl. VAT.
Anyone's running this system, if so how about noise increase when swapping the centre?

Hi Dan
Both systems are made to a high quality and fit and in our experience are fully interchangeable with other decent systems. They should bolt straight up with no bother
Any straight mid section will increase noise... but this is generally a good thing!

Paul is correct, we have sold to people who have done this, but my personal recommendation would be to try and stick to one make/manufactuerer all the way through if possible.
Our centre pipe is 3" bore and there is not much gain in stepping up from 2.5" pipe to our 3" pipe then back down to 2,5" pipe again.

Thanks 4 the fast replies guys!
I know about the different bores, Mike, but your centre section is (as you know) somewhat cheaper as the SS one.
Of course I unsterstand you'd prefer me to ditch my SS-backbox and buy a whole Scoobymania system. (Just kidding)! I'd love too, just a little low on cash!
Anyway, I mailed you at Scoobymania to check the shipping charges for Luxembourg.
Cheers and thanks again!

Hi Dan,
I find the above recommedations a bit strange...
I had the Scoobymania DP and SS backbox a few months ago and also wondered if the Scoobymania center section would fit, as the price seemed cheapish
I asked Mike who said it should but wasnt 100% sure. Anyways I ordered the center section of Scoobymania and promptly went down to my local friendly Subaru dealer.
One hour later, I was rather pi55ed off as the mechanic couldnt get it to fit. The actual problem was the center section resting on the rear diff (might of been the BB cant remember now), the mechanic seemed to think the angle of the joint between the BB and center section was problem.
If I was you I'd take the advice off Mike and stick with just one make of system.
Hope this has helped...
Mark
PS - Mike did refund me for the center section.

Yes it will, the centre pipe that Mark had was not made accurately.
I sent it back to the manufacturers who confirmed that it must have moved in the jig during assembly.
Basically one of the end flanges had rotated slightly and would not have lined up because of that, it was only about 8mm out, but that was enough to cause them not to align correctly.
