Don't really want to goto the main dealer,want any upgrade.

Any ideas?

 

I had mine done at 24hr Clutches in Bolton 2 years ago whilst having new gears in box replaced, it all came to about £775 all in, think the clutch was £350 and they picked up and returned, ive used them before on other cars with no probs at all except this one, had the clutch replaced under warranty-ish this year (£100 due to box leak) first clutch kept slipping from day one but no problems on replacement - touch wood. Saving about £300 on main dealer - clutch only.
Thats £350 fitted incl vat, but phone for latest prices.

I'd use Well Lane Turbo in Batley

They treated my various Ford cars well for a number of years

 

Oh, yeah... and the best Clutch is an AP cerametallic clutch - costs around £400

Can get from many places - just dont pay much over £400!

 

Had mine fitted at AJ Motorsport in Sowerby Bridge. Builds/Prepared Subaru Rally cars. Fitted mine with an AP Sprung Paddle. Very impressed.

PS - are you doing the harewood hill climb?

Will be in the little Pug 205 on Sunday 5th Aug, and then Saturday 8th the Scooby will get an outing on the Climb.
Sunday 9th Harewood Finals back in the Peugeot.

AJ Motorsport rebuilt my engine with Cosworth pistons, and its looked after there. They don't just specialize in Subaru's. My Pug was rebuilt there a couple of weeks ago after I destroyed the cam belt ops:

I've been to Sowerby bridge a number of times and never come across it!

 

How much do they charge for a clutch change. Its possible to change it in 2.5 hrs so I would not expect much more than £100 ish on labour - much, much less than half the quoted Subaru Main dealer price
