I've made an MP3 recording of what the piston slap sounds like on my car, which has been confirmed by my dealer now. Have a listen and let me know what you think.

Excellent stuff there m8. Well your recording will certainly help people understand what piston slap sounds like. When someone posts and asks "do I have piston slap?" all we have to do is refer to them to the link to have a listen. You can certainly hear the piston slap on the cold engine recording, and you can hear when it's gone on the warm engine recording. Top Stuff!!! Good luck with your car.

GOOD STUFF.COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT OIL YOU WHERE USING AND WHAT SPARK PLUGS,AND WAS YOUR COOLANT 50/50 WITH WATER OR PURE COOLANT .AND DID YOU USE 95 OR 97 RON.

Great recording.That sounds exactly the way my car did before I had the replacement piston kit fitted.Strange how my dealer couldn't hear it!.

Now its been fixed I can still hear the same noise but it is much much quieter and seems to be coming from the other cylinders.Its not loud enough to bother trying to get anything done about it though.

I think you will be surprised at how much smoother and quieter your engine feels with the new piston fitted.
