Wink

i have had a minor problem with my scoob for 3 months now. you name the company ive took it there .after three rolling roads and endless checks sir bob has saved me from buying another scoob. i had a problem in fifth gear at over 4000 rpm my car would sound rough and would not pull well at all.after sending this problem in greater detail , bob gave me the options of the follwing; lambda sensor, ignition coils, petrol i.e esso etc ,ecu knocking.i thought i would start with the cheapest change first.i allways go to a esso station in my town 79.9 for 97oct it is cheaper than anyother brand fuel.iwaited untill my tank was just about empty then started to use shells 81.9 oct 97. later that day my car sounded quieter. i then took up the motorway for a late night blast my fifth gear problem had gone. it has been four days now filled up again and the problem has gone . cheers bob. has anyonelse noticed the diffrence .

Thomo, did you notice this problem in any other gear as my MY94 occasionally feels a bit guttless at higher revs.

I always use Esso, so could this be the problem.

Was yours intermitent or was it like it all the time.

What is it with Esso that makes the difference then (Other than the cost)

I'll be filling up with Shell this weekend then.

With a bit of luck it'll be 'Optimax 98RON' too.
