V-A Dump Valve. Anyone care to resolve this one?
#1
Hi everybody,
I'm thinking about fitting one of these vent-to-atmosphere dump valves. The fact is, the idea of flames coming out of my exhaust is just too tempting and in my opinion is a snip at just over 100 squids.
The problem comes when I searched Scoobynet and half the replies related to this topic are from people saying their ECU's get confused and the result is a nightmare, with the other half noticing no discernible difference.
Could this be the difference between fitting venting dump valves on cars with different boost settings? Or perhaps some other difference is the cause of these anomalies.
If anyone could enlighten me on the subject, I would be most grateful.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom
the main purpose for fitting a dump valve (v-a) is to reduce the resistance on the compresser vane in the turbo, sometimes a by-product of the odd flame may occure on overrun if a free-flow exhaust is fitted.
To get true flames from the exhaust ytou would need to go too a MOTEC ECU M48-PRO with programmable antilag system.
