TSL thunderCAT - Results from MOT
Well it certainly works!
Higher rate of flow and performance is better than the standard cat andthe pipe is a much nicer design than the MY01 downpipe. (No 90 degree bends is a start)
The car had it's MOT and the guy doing the check though it would fail look at the system.
To say he was surprised it passed is understating it, he spent five minutes telling me how the results were some of the best he has seen on the Scoob, including completely standard ones.
The results were:
At 2500 revs:
CO 0ppm (who cars what the maximum limit is 0 emissions is good)
HC 99ppm (legal limit 200ppm)
(CO - Carbon Monoxide: HC - Hydrocarbons (unburnt fuel))

Trouser --> I'm not asking for a verbal promise or anything - but what do you reckon to mine?
I bought your actual ThunderCAT prototype pipe (the one that came off Graham's car), but also now have a decat upppipe. Do you reckon the uppipe needs to still have a cat, to ensure it passes the MOT emissions-wise?
(MY02 WRX TEK3, TSL ThunderCat, TSL decat centre, GrpN backbox, SS decat Uppipe).
Anyone else with an opinion on this?
cheers
DaveR
PS - the ThunderCat is the best single mod I've done to the car IMO

No reason it shouldn't pass with just a downpipe cat. A lot of cars have just a single cat, including e.g. the PPP STi 7/8. IIRC, MRT guarantee their downpipe cat on its own will pass emmissions, and I'd be very surprised if their or prodrive's emmissions were a lot different to any other decent sports cat system. I haven't tried my APS sports cat system in an MOT yet, but would be surprised and disappointed if it does fail.

I too have the TSL thundercat downpipe, and that is my only cat also.
I was told it was way better than standard car emission wise, i and i certainly trust TSL.
And i think the above post proves that point beyond doubt!
Thanks for the info, i can now rest easy! LOL.
Mind you, i got another 2 years yet.
