Question Exhaust swap effect on ECU mapping?

I have a MY99 UK with PPP fitted. I have already decatted the downpipe and the filter elemenet has been upgraded. Otherwise the engine is standard PPP except a recent change to a scoobyspot back box. The issue is I LOVE the change in zorst noise ! I'm thinking of going even further with an afterburner of similar (maybe swapping the mid-section as well). However I don't want to lose power or torque.

Will I lose torque / power / move the power to higher revs if I swap more of the exhaust? With just the decat and the full PPP it was dynoed at 270bhp and 269lb/ft (see http://dyno.scoobynet.co.uk/uk/bash_nazir.htm). I don't want to lose out but the ECU map may be a bit 'off' due to less back pressure? Does that make sense or am I barking up the wrong tree? The engine currently pulls very hard from low down I'd not want to lose that.... BUT I love the noise and want MORE!

Cheers
Peter

Peter,

Sorry I can`t answer your question but I have one for you. Have you had an MOT since you decatted your downpipe and if so did it pass? As I have the same as you and I`m looking into getting this mod done soon.

Cheers,

Chris

The PPP removes the midsection cat and the downpipe I have removes the other. As such the MOT would fail.... I have made other arrangements.

Default Anyone?

As earlier stated... Anyone think a new back box will adversely affect the power / torque of my PPP'ed car?

I want the noise but I don't want to lose the power!

Cheers
Peter
