Get your vin no and look up Xtreme scoobies.

MY99/00 is about £90, but all earlier cars are quite pricey when it comes to MAF's.

a new one for my MY00 was £70 + vat from a dealer. It turned out that it wasn't the maf that was going but the lambda sensor - £120 + vat - although it's a Bosch part so you could get one from a motor spares place.

You get similar symptoms when they start to go (rough idle when warmed up as well as the more sinister!)
try seeing what the CEL tells you before replacing anything
