Exclamation Decat centre section loudness

With many thanks to Delboy2, fitted his old Scoobysport backbox and non-res centre section on saturday - which sounds great.

but now I'm thinking that maybe it's a bit loud in the cabin - how much of a difference does the c-section make to cabin noise? and any way to quieten things down?

Use Exhaust wrap. You can get it from loads of places like Demon Tweeks, Roger Clarke Motorsport etc..

Or just wait a while as you may get used to the noise level.

Have you got a wagon or saloon? I know a few say an unresonated centre tends to boom a bit in a wagon. I know mine (saloon) sounds quite a bit louder with the rear seats down but is the right side of loud for me with the seats up.

MY00 saloon.

love the sound, tickover sounds fantastic, but had someone in the car yesterday who's not been in it before and I was a bit conscious of the sound - I even started driving to compensate for it (try and sound a little quieter)
