Default dodgy idling

Hi,

My mate had a new engine fitted to his 94 WRX with new pistons, heads, MAF e.t.c. However after about 120miles the engine has started cutting out when approaching a junction and stalling. After starting it back up the engine will idle between 600 and 800 revs and then settle back to normal after about 30 secs. Also the check engine light flashed on and off for a while.

WHAT IS GOING ON PLZ ???

Thx,

King RA

D4V3 asked me to post this for him, I think I done surprisingly well considering my condition!!

I know you've got a new MAF but check it as that is the classic symptom.
I had exactly the same thing

Sounds like the throttle position sensor or dirt in the idle control sensor ! Anybody done a diagnostic check on the car after the rebuild to see if there are any outstanding ECU faults logged.?
