Magnex down pipe question
Hi all
Just got a magnex down pipe (Thanks scooby pete) and have notices that there is a screw hole in it near the top of the pipe.
I have a 1993 wrx import and was wondering if there is a sensor on the cat that sits there or if it needs to be blocked?
Many thanks
Johnny

I have two on mine, the one by the turbo is for the oxygen sensor. Which I think is what your refering to - you'll see it when you take the heat shield off the turbo.
The other I think is for a "cat on fire" sensor, but my car (MY97) doesn't have one so it just has a bolt fitted instead (included with the fitting kit).

Thanks Ali
Mine has two, the bottom on has a screw/plug in it.
So does that mean that my standard down pipe has a sensor in that will slot straight into the one next to the turbo?
Whats the down pipe done to your car?
More power? NOISE?!!
Thanks
Johnny

Yep just unscrew the sensor from the old down pipe and the sensor will screw straight in to your new one
Power!! Running full decat - spool up and lag is a hell of lot quicker. It does make a good difference
Noise? well, depends what you've got at the back. Still running the standard backbox you'll get a deeper noise, which is just slightly louder. You may hear a slight tinny noise and some whistle from the down pipe when off boost, otherwise it's all good
