2.5ltr stroker questions

£1100 approx from the US for a 2.5 litre assembled short motor (block, rods, pistons). Mine seems happy so far with 10000 miles at 434 BHP and a further 800 at about 450 BHP. Some think the setup I have is only robust to 350 BHP and would change the pistons +- rods.
Extra costs - gaskets, plus supporting mods (fuel, intercooling, breathing, turbo).

12.2 at 121 with 2.0 60' but also did 1.8 60', so could have done 12.0 had the best launch been hooked up with the rest of the run. This is with full weight, road tyres at normal pressure, 6 speed gearbox with normal road style gearchanges. Judge the performance by the terminal, I don't drive it hard enough on the 1/4 out of lack of skill and brutality so the ET suffers.
How much? - it is just an engine swap, but the additional mods are what cost £££££

If you do the whole engine with heads and cams...
Everything needs upgrading
It's good, but can be a handful to drive
Insurance is costly
Fuel consumption is same if driven in same way
It's bleedin expensive.
It's fecking fast.

See the thread in Group Buys section. Lots of info.
Bottom line is that 2.5 has a lot going for it in terms of both big power and good driveability. But you do need to upgrade a lot of expensive parts.
Richard.
