Ive just bought a turbo timer with a GC8 harness, which doesnt fit my MY00. What sort of impreza is a GC8?

Ollie, GC8 is japanese VIN, 17 digits for UK models. Harness....try any scooby tuning outlet.

 

GC8 is the first 3 digits of the model code (totalof 7 digits)

G = Impreza

C = Sedan

8 = 2.0l Turbo

This is followed by year code, No of doors, model type and transmission.

 

That's not quite correct.

"GC8" is the chassis code for the classic shape saloon body. This code does not alude to the engine configuration.

Other example chassis codes:

GC8 The Original Body Style Sedan
GF8 The Original Body Style Sport Wagon
GDA The "New Age" WRX Sedan
GDB The "New Age" WRX STi Sedan
GGA The "New Age" WRX Sport Wagon
GGB The "New Age" WRX STi Sport Wagon

Ive got a wiring harness for a GC8 but it wont fit into my ingition loom!

 

a gc8 is a scooby around march 95 wrx 260bhp, well thats what mine is!!

 

GC8 is the model code that designs the "classic shape" Impreza. They were made from 1993 to 2000.

You can buy a turbo timer harness in lots of internet shops or from tuners who sells turbo timers. You need to tell them what turbo timer it is, though, as there are lots of different ones.
