Default Best place to source Walbro pump and injectors?

Where is the best place to get a HP version of the Walbro 255 litre pump, and also to get good 550cc injectors for my Sti v3 (97 Facelift)?

Intent is to mod my hill climb Sti to

TD05 Andy F turbo
Apexi FC mapped by Andy
Gruppe s v2 headers
Pump
550's
Sports cat centre sec in my Magnex 3'' decat system.
Pray every night before a race for the gearbox.....

I list all this lot incase the 550's are OTT(?)

I will keep the TMIC for now, so looking to hike from current 314 bhp (Optimax + NF) to about 360 on straight Optimax.
Will need a 6 speeder before i need a FMIC...........

Any advice please?

Best place I found for Walbro pumps is APE in Texas: http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/

I've pointed several people in Ron's direction and never heard any complaints back...

if you are going to put a td05/06 turbo on your car and run it with an stiV3 intercooler you will be wasting your money as your intercooler isnt good for that much more power than you already have

You might be better off raising your fuel pressure level using an SX FPR

In the UK, AS Performance were doing FSE Regulator and Walbro 341 255lph pump for £195 posted next day.
Contact me if you want a Hybrid FMIC £580 delivered.
The FSE is a far cheaper alternative to the SX but should not operate beyond 5 bar.
Fuel pressure over boost, say 3.25 bar plus boost, say 1.5 bar = 4.75 bar so ok for a bit more boost upper limit.

Got 550cc injectors from Scobby Mania the weekend for £497. I think TSL wanted £530 or there about, hope this helps, someone said you could get them cheaper then £497 but i couldnt be bothered to look round.

Porsche prices for injectors then!
Steve says the TMIC is no good for 350bhp, not saying you are wrong Steve, but nobody else has agreed (or dissagreed).
Didn't really want to go to FMIC to be honest...(£ cost) What I can say is that a hill climb run is about 60 seconds...do you still say the same Steve?

John, is 550cc too much, I think the next 'step' is 440cc. Need some advice. I do know my stock injectors are on full duty @ 314 bhp (ref Power Engineering RR).

Thanks for the input everyone.

Wink

Will he won't he.....

I take it you've decide to hold on for the moment?

I'm sure the recent general opinion with the 440s was they were good for 350 with a raised fuel pressure. John Banks asked the same question recently with his/the legacy.

I am very impressed with the hybrid IC but it does raise the water temps to around 94-96 when working hard. Down side PITA to fit and butcher the front bumper.

Mark, the decision is made. The bloody expensive hill climb Sti stays. It will get tuned, butchered and abused as a race car and to hell with the value (does it have any?).
The beloved 911 will become a classic road car for high days with the wife (can't remember those since I started hill climbing!).

Plan is to do the motor as above, Avons and save (quickly) for the 6 speeder from a JDM sti. This will be the last fancy race car I do!

Graham - remember that your present tranny is worth good money - so the net cost of a -speeed may only be a grand or so

im not saying dont have a TMIC as i have a TMIC and a td05/06 im just saying dont stay with an sti v3 intercooler

and as far as injectors go you can buy new far cheaper than those prices ive just bought a brand new set of HKS 740cc injectors and mine were only £370 and they are direct fit

according to andyf if you turn up the fuel pressure he can get about 340/350 bhp from 440 injectors (might be more cant remeber) , i didnt put 550 injectors on mine as he said he would have to raise the fuel pressure to get them to run the turbo properly, but he did say that 440 injectors were no good for a td05/06 as i know at the minute as im running a safe map on my car with 440 injectors and they are running 100% duty but its gonna be a month before i can get the 740's mapped

Thanks Steve, good info.
Would an Sti v8 TMIC do the job?(better)
Kicking myself for selling an uprated TMIC early this year!
I thought the 550's were expensive too.

Time to trawl the Snet again.....

Top: I had forgotten about the nett cost of a trans change. Makes a bit more sense.

Thanks as ever,
