tsl firestorm back box, any good?
i've been offered a tsl firestorm back box for my '94 wrx and i was just wondering if anybody out there has had any experience with one (how loud?, does it look good? etc)
if currently got a tsl group n box and it's fine but i just don't know if the firestorm will be too loud for me (or too big!)
any help would be appreciated
ta, dave

I would possibly be interested in your group n box, what does that sound like? I got a Subaru sports box at the minute and that seems to me to resonate a lot more than it does give me the Scooby burble i am really after.

Looks :- Very cool, mine seems to be slash cut in both vertical and horizontal planes to mach the bumper (MY95)
Sound :- Loud but purposeful, not too bad at 70/80 mph cruiseing speed

can't go wrong with it in my opinion
i changed to one from a magnex (coz it was too small and quiet) and have been well happy. i run a full decat aswell so i guess that adds a few dbs, but the firestorm seems about twice as loud

sorry MaDaSS, the group n is spoken for!
i'm just a bit worried about the noise cos i leave for work at 5:30am and i don't think i'll be very popular if it's too noisy (i've got a full de-cat aswell so it will ad a few dB's!)

it's got a really nice burble and it's fairly loud, but i've got no cat's which makes it a little louder!!!
i'm only considering the swap to a firestorm cos a mate has got a custom made box on his and it's louder than mine

I swapped mine for a hks hiper... they are good quality and have a really good burble but when I swapped my headers it sounded crap, really carp but since Ive heard a scoob with the same headers with the exhaust and it sounded good
it always stuck out too far for my liking and looked like a drian pipe ( yes I know I ve got a hiper)
just make sure you see a blitz nur spec and a hiper before u part with the cash

it's a straight swap that i've been offered for my tsl group n
the other guy wants a quieter box (for some reason!)
it's only the noise factor that's putting me off, i don't want to make enemies of all my neighbours when i start up at 5:30 am!!!

I used to have one and it lasted about 2 months before it had to go!
It gives a really nice burble at low revs but after that I found it a bit boomy rather than the nice scooby sound. Plus at crusing speed i found it a pain, just too noisy inside the cabin. But that is just my opinion - many, many people love it!
