Default Greasemonkey or exhaust expert.

I have a Scoobysport decat downpipe,Magnex resonated centre section and scoobysport backbox on classic.
I need to put centre cat on for MOT if I buy myself 2 axle stands to support car is it a simple unbolt job under the car in the street or is a ramp essential?
I have the centre original cat but no gaskets etc.
Will the bends of the pipe fit exactly with the other 2 aftermarket parts or will it be a bitch for an unskilled mechanic?
Once I am unbolted there will no going back!!

It's a real easy job.
Almost as easy as filling it with petrol!
Only 4 x nuts and bolts to undo.
There's a 'donut' gasket on the downpipe ( which should stay in place)
and a gasket between the centre and rear box which should be reusable.
Stick the front on the axle stands and slide under the car armed with 12 and 14mm spanners.

Don't think the centre cat will get you through MOT though....

I had a thread on this subject about 3 weeks ago.
Many assured me that a UK centre Cat only will get you through.

I have a full Magnext decat on my Sti v3. The sprung loaded gasket between the downpipe and the centre section is different but simply bolted through will work. Easy job overall, get some WD40 to ease it all.

Good luck, 911

If you park with two wheels on a high kerb you can get away without axle stands.. if you don't mind laying in the gutter..

Have put the centre cat on, went to a friendly garage and put the exhaust probe on to test with emission analyiser and seemed ok.
Car re-booked for MOT re-test this Sat. so will keep fingers crossed it will pass.

Funny the car has now got a slightly deeper throb on idle and a bit quieter at low revs but could not really feel any power differences while driving.
May leave centre cat on ,turbo spools up the same in my view, I have done 500 +miles this week , so may feel a bit different when I drive again at the weekend after a couple of days of non scooby driving.

Any one done power runs with decat down pipe and centre cat on and then off!!

P.S. Good deal in Halfords for axle stands at the moment "free" with trolley jack

I noticed slight change in power on mine when I refitted catted centre, but then I am on a link ecu and noticed I need to take fuel out etc.. as it was then a little rich..

not a huge difference though.. depends on other mods I suppose.. if you are getting to the edge of the flow capability of the catted centre then it will be a restriction.. otherwise it won't.
