turbo at 3000 rpm

turbo at 3000 rpm
my wrx sti's (jap) turbo kicks in at 3000rpm and then at 5000rpm it goes like stink (now that its sorted) is there an easy way it can really kick in at 3000rpm by minor tweaking so its constant power to the 7000rpm limit

It should make full boost pretty quickly after spool up. 2000rpm difference is much too long. I'd say my Turbo spools around 2800 and am getting full boost by 32-3400rpm on a MY95 UK Turbo.

Check the wastegate linkage isn't weak and opening a bit early ( so slowing boost build up / spool up )
Check for exhaust leaks into the turbo - heads to headers, headers to up-pipe, up-pipe to turbo and turbo into intercooler, finally intercooler into throttlebody. Check all the hoses from manifold are all in place and not split, including the ones to the MAP sensor and boost controller
If not already, get a decat downpipe wide neck, and STi air filter in air box ( or the better induction kits like K&N ) to aid breathing and reduce back pressure after turbo
Try a 3 port boost solenoid to improve boost control
Get the ECU map changed for boost control duty cycle to increase rate of spool up ( remap )
