Default 5th gear - how do you fix the "loose nut" problem

As title, UK 99/00 5 MT. Strongly suspect the fabled loose nut is the problem. The gearbox is out the car. How do you fix it?

Remove drop gears and centre diff.
Undo nut and check thread is ok, clean thread.
Whole bottle of loctite on thread and replacement is the reverse of removal.

Rob

p.s. whole bottle of loctite was a joke!! use a good thread lock.

R.
