Default Ecu Remap

What is the most recommended Ecu. Also what are the differences and limitations of them, Gems, Motec, Apexi and Link?

Cheers for any help.

Having had Motec and Gems they are both top ECUs.

Apexi VFM is superb though.

Can some do things others can't, what is the general difference in the capabilities of them. What is it that warrants the difference in prices between them? Is the Apexi the one mapped by Andy F, cos it seems to have a lot of good things said about it. But at half the price, what does it not do that the others do?

Cheers for the answers so far.

Apexi can be mapped by Andy F and the best way for that. He knows it like the back of his hand.

Apexi doesn't have the antilag that the others have and not sure about the rest.

TBH Gems and Motec are overkill for a standard road car.

IMO anyway.

Cheers for the help, having a few bits done to the car so i'll have to get in contact with Andy F for the Apexi then. Is there a certain place he fits and maps it, or will he travel?

AEM?

I think they have a self tune feature that should work well with a wide band lambda. If I saw correct they have a plug and play box for Impreza.
