Default Adjustable diff - turning at low low speed

.. am hoping this is a characteristic of the car although I'm far from convinced (Sti5 Type R)

When manoeuvring at low speed, turning off the drive etc, with a far amount of lock on, if I have the diff on anything other than max rear, the rear passenger side wheel feels like it locks up. When the wheel is pointing straight again it is fine.

My first thoughts were that it could be a sticky handbrake but it happens only when the diff is not set right to the back. Is this a known problem or am I about to be relieved of a few £££'s to sort it?

Haven't been able to get under the car yet but was hoping for a few thoughts in advance.

Cheers

Rich

For low speed manoeuvring, the diff control should really be set to full open anyway. Is this on a gravel drive way? Because on dry tarmac mine makes some terrible mechanical noises clonks and bangs. But this is normal.

Just set it to full open for normal driving about town etc, you only need more LSD action when you are pressing on damp or wet roads.

Cheers guys.

I feel a little more reassured although it definitely feel as though the rear wheel actually locks. I guess it has to be the diff ....

I'll keep you posted

Thanks again

definitely your diff setting, it's got to be on full rear for any sort of low speed manoeuvers, otherwise you'll get what you're experiencing
