Default Odd noise

I guess I won't like any of the replies but here goes.

MY98 turbo. First thing in the morning driving up the lane outside my house there is a tight left at the top of the road, the car makes an wheel slipping / abs activating style grumble. Quite a deep expensive sounding noise! Anyone have any ideas? First started when reversing on nearly full lock. Only seem to do it when cold and only the once.

Cheers

MIke

ok...1st thing...have you checked all brake pads for wear ??......
2nd......when this noise happens does anything else happen at the same time ?
does your brake pedal go solid or start 2 bounce ?
also i would check your droplinks front & rear .

If it's when you're on a tightish lock it could be wheel bearings?

On damp nights a layer of rust can form on the disc and make a scraping noise when braking for the first couple of times, especially if the car is not used for a couple of days.
