The only way your car could have a re-map, is if it has had an extra board added, or if it had an after market ecu fitted in Japan, or the UK. You'd need to remover the ecu to check.
Octane booster generally won't do any harm, but excessive use will leave a heavy deposit on the lambda sensor, and can end up didtorting the readings.

I'm not familiar with all OB's, I should have said that NF leaves a deposit, and others may do the same.
That said, IMHO, NF is still by far the best of the branded OB's that I've tried.

Yup octane boosters will leave deposits, along with the exhaust gasses that leave a carbon deposit.
Saying that, it is recommended to change your lamba sensor every 2/3 years if you want good readings, but you should get quite a bit of warning if it goes (emissions are the biggest givaway).

Cheers Guys, I have used NF recently and don't want to wreck the new Lambda too soon, but if it takes 2 - 3 years, and now remapped won't regularly be using NF is just fine!!
