Usually happens at higher revs, as you mention though that could also indicate clutch wear. Coil packs tend to break down between th 60k-75k mark. & its worth replacing them all in one go.......
PS welcome on board

Coilpacks were replaced at 70k on my95uk.
it was cutting out at high boost.
All replaced and all ok.
Thats what happened just before I bought the car.( I bought it from a pal)

It probably is the packs, but may not be. They are not cheap so worth checking them. Take them out and peel back the rubber at the plug end of the packs. If the plastic is cracked and broken underneath then they need replacing.

About 50 quid each from subaru.

You could get the aussie bosch coil pack which is supposed to be better, and a bit cheaper but will take a while to order and get them.
