Question Is my MAF dying??

MY00 with knocklink fitted - has only ever lit up first 2 greens, very very occasionally 1 orange. In the last couple of months I've had the occasional blink from the red, always whilst WOT at about 4 - 4,500 rpm. Car also seems to be accelerating slightly "lumpily", but still idles ok.

Does this sound like a dying MAF, and is there any way I can test this before shelling out £80 odd for a new one.

Thanks

Dave

Those are characteristics of a MAF on the way out, the car will usually start to idle unevenly too, but I understand the ECU can compensate and conceal this to some extent.

I believe one way to check is reset the ECU and see if the car runs the same or worse. But do a search there is loads of info on this topic from people much more knowledgable than me! :-)

Best.

Ecu reset is an easy way to check.

Do you know anyone else with a MY00 and deltadash ?

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't know anyone with Delta Dash. Might try the ECU reset tomorrow to see if the idle then goes to pot - I've booked the car in to the dealer for Monday - they can apparently measure the voltages from the MAF to determine if it's dying before I fork out for a new one.
