Question lightened pulleys???

getting my cam belt 45k service on Monday and am wondering whether its worth investing in lightened pulleys...I already have a lightened fly wheel. Any info\personal experience would be gratefully received...

Are they worth changing if the flywheel isn't a lightened 1??
I really like the blue ones for the classic, but can't make my mind up if its worth it??
Have read reports of the crank pulley not being balanced or something, so they reckon the OE one is better for the engine??

David, can you shed any light??

just changed pulleys on mine. got slightly more knocklink activity but not enough to worry about. definately do with lightened flywheel as you will have a slight imbalance with standard pulley.

Yes, I believe it is the right thing to do for sound engineering reasons.
There was a thread recently on this subject.

I base this on some knowledge, but the words spoken by various knowledgable types in Porsche circles as well as the Scooby arena.
David's no fool either.
The big guys fit them too, ie Roger Clark so qualification there too.

Scoobyclininc has a set that start at £165+VAT - how much are you selling them for David, as I can't see them on your website?

I can't buy them at £150 so when you find them at that money let me know. Assuming new - and not used; ex Ebay or S'net ones.

£210 plus VAT delivered from API. Best place of course!!

Logo'ed in Blue and will also help attract women, win lotteries and generally enhance your life. [no guarantee of the type and quality of women attracted, lottery amount winnable, subject to terms and conditions - your house may be at risk, blah blah blah ]

In my opinion, it is less problematic to change the front pulleys alone, than fit a lighter flywheel alone. Ideally do both. As 911 says, there was a thread in here a month or so back that l contributed to.

Suffice to say opinions differed and I took no further parts when 'theories' overtook common sense.

Good luck David APi Engines / APi Impreza

Been looking at these too recently...cos i like the blue (do I sound like a woman ? )

Would look better than the exisiting ones that I've got in anyway. But I don't have a lightened flywheel...so does it matter?

*adds pulleys and flywheel to ever expanding list of mods required*

*goes to put lottery on*

Edit: David got in his post first that answer my question. Also says I will win lottery if fitted. So Can't afford to fit until I win lottery...only win lottery if I fit....ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH
