Question whats this pipe for?

what is the pipe that runs from the resonator box to the pipe just in front of the inlet manifold for? can it have a mini breather filter fitted or should it be left connected?

Its for the ISCV.... if you are still running a MAF based ecu (standard ecu or Apexi PFC) you need this connected. If you are running a MAP based ecu (Link, Motec, Gems etc) then you can put a mini breather on there.

The breather can go straight onto the metal pipe. The pipe takes air into the inlet manifold, it doesn't blow air out.

So you don't have a MAF... the pic shows it still in place?

IT'S NOT A BREATHER

Leave it connected.

That pipe is where te Idle Speed Control Valve draws it's air from. So if you want to not connect it to the main inlet, then you can use a small air filter, which is what Tone Loc referred to as the "mini breather". You can put the filter on the pipe, or directly on the valve.

It will be used what ever MAF you run.

If you fit an ECU that does no require MAF info, then you can just fit a filter on to the ISCV and remove/bung the pipe
