Question De-cat Downpipe... testing the water

Guys

MY04 with a Ninja BB...

As my insurance already covers 'exhaust non standard' I'm thinking about ditching the down pipe for a de-cat pipe. (I know Warranty will be effected, but I have a reasonably friendly Subaru dealer and I'm a good customer of theirs )

So.... 3 questions...

a) can I just replace the down pipe? Old one off, new one on?
b) anything to think about regarding sensors or CEL fixes etc?
c) what pipes should I be looking at? (Scoobyworld £199 seems VFM)

Any other ideas?

Had mine done by XtremeScoobies and as far as i know

a) straight replacement
b) you have to have a CEL fix
c) got a H&S as Xtreme were doing a group buy (about £145 + vat + fitting)

P.S. they also done the uppipe as well

I went for the 3" to 2.5" H & Scott downpipe on my MY03 STI.

MUCH quicker spool up....but had overboosting and DET occuring so needed a re-map.

notall newage's are are fussy as mine was...but it's something you need to consider..
