22B Block rebuild

22B Block rebuild
Hi Guys,
I have bought a 22B Block for my RA, but would like information where to obtain new pistons and connecting rods. I have e-mailed a few companies for a quote for manufacture, but thought maybe somebody here may know of the whereabouts of parts already existing.
regards,
Jonathan

If it is a real 22b block then I would suggest selling it as they are quite rare (and also not the best block to start extracting big power from). Then buy a eg22t block or eg20 closed deck block and a stroker kit.
If you still want to use the 22b block then try the usual suspects - API, Roger Clarke, Lateral Performance, Graham Goode. They should be able to help with parts, but as mentioned it will cost you in time and money (I waited a month for piston rings for mine).

Certain original 22b parts are nigh on impossible to get hold of, but because the EJ22T is quite popular as a tuning base, there are parts available off the shelf, that fit both blocks.

Rather than rebuild my EJ20 I decided to source a 22B Block and rebuild that with new pistons and conrods and probably line the bores because there is a slight mark in one. It is rare and this is also a good reason to use one. Makes my RA even more special.

Jonathan,
If you use uprated rods and bearings (even with the rest of the engine standard) then I've been told you should be OK for that and more. Have fun, oh and Mark at Lateral Performance will see you right, top bloke.
