Hi,
What 4wd system does the Subaru use?
Does it have a centre diff? Or an electronically controlled VC???
Thanks in advance

Impreza UK models (non-STi) use an open front diff, viscous centre and (IIRC) rear diffs, with no electronic control.
The UK STi 2005 model has plated (IIRC) front and rear diff, and an electronically controlled centre diff which is manually adjustable or as default operates in auto mode, with information from a yaw rate sensor amongst others.
I'm sure some pedant will correct me where I am deficient

John,
Thanks for the info... so does the UK models use a centre diff which has a VC for controlled locking.... or does it use just a VC which means that the 4wd is not permanent but part time?
Mike
