Boost creep on TD05-16G
Hi
Hope somebody can help me on this one. I have a Impreza GT from 99, running with a TD05-16G and all the supporting mods. I used the winter on changing the headers from OE to the GT Spec gen. II and the exhaust to a Blitz Nür Spec R from a HKS Super Drager. Now I have massive boost creep in 5th and 6th gear from above 4500 RPM. What is the easiest way to check if it's because I need to port the waste gate? I wan't to run a max boost of 1.25 bar.
Thanks in advance
Rasmus
Spec list:
Standard GT engine
TD05-16G
Hybrid FMIC
K&N injection filter
MRT inlet
GT Spec gen. II headers
Blitz Nür Spec R
Apexi AVC-R boost controller
EcuTek 3
440 injectors
6 speed gearbox

To check whether it is actually boost creep - connect the pipe from the compressor outlet nipple directly to the Actuator nipple so to eliminate the Boost controller. With the pipe from the compressor housing connected directly to the actuator you should only see ~8-10psig boost throughout the RPM range. If above 4-5k the boost starts to 'climb' then you have boost creep, if the boost remains stable its more likely to be the setup of the Apexi AVCR.
I have recently seen this on another car (shown HERE )which had just been fitted with headers, an exhaust housing with a ported wastegate cured the problem
Cheers

Thanks!!
I'll try that out tomorrow. It's just strange, because the wastegate is already portet, maybe it's could use some more ;-)
But since the problem only shows in the 5th and 6th gear, it must be the wastegate.

I can only say the difference compared to the OE headers is stunning!!!
If I turn off the Apexi the boost start climbing in 5th and 6th from 4500 RPM and above, so it must be the wastegate. I'll port it in the weekend and see if it cures my problem.
Thanks
