first of all my car is my98uk turbo:
vf35 turbo
uprated 255 fuel pump
k&n induction
turboback decat 3"
fmic
apexi avcr boost controller
turbo hiflow pipe
blow off valve vta type
knocklink
and what it is doing is boosting to the required level as set up on avcr, then when you get to about 5k it starts raising ,for instance the other day my a setting was at 1bar and it got to 1.3 bar b4 i noticed. and it does it when the avcr is turned off. ie it boosts ro about .5bar thenwhen it gets to about 5k off it goes again 1bar 1.1 1.2 and so on. hope this explains mate

Yep that explains it pretty well thanks.
I think you'll find that the 3" decat is one of the main factors. Mine does the same in 5th at 5500rpm creeps upto 1.6 bar then hits fuel cut
It only started doing that after I put on a turbo back 3" system.
Probably your best bet would be to go over and ask the guys on here. Its generally a bit more techy on there.
One option is to port the wastegate on the turbo to help release excess boost pressure.
