jack the car up, remove the wheel and take the plastic wing liner out.
check with andy before you fit it- I'm not sure what andy's view is, but pat doesn't seem able to map cars with them fitted (or at least thats why he told me he couldn't get my map right).
neither Richard Bulmer or Bob seem to have a problem mapping with them on, so I'll let you make your own mind up about that one......

Nice to hear. Its getting mapped by Andy next week so I dont think it will get driven after I fit the kit. As far as I know Andy recommends these kits so I will see what happens. If there is a problem I can just refit the original induction.
Cheers for the help!!

I fitted an APS kit recently. Getting it through the inner wing from the engine bay (having already done previously what the guys have said) seemed an impossible task to me. However with a lot of twisting and a bit of pressure it will go through, without having to remove any other components.
One point though is that if you get it mapped with the induction kit, then decide to retro fit the original system again, you should remap it again.

It was a real PITA on MY99. Everything is such a tight fit. I needed to temp move the what looked like the brake 'thingy' which bolts into the the wing also.
I remember doing the final bolts up thinking its so tight and rigid the bolts are going to break. Didnt need the brackets.
Made just over 350bhp on mine.

Looking at the pics, A fmic probably will still fit.
However, Warm air will be coming off the intercooler pipe right next to the air filter.
