That is a great help, you have a my00 uk car. it has 215bhp as standard. You will be able to get the car decatted without a remap. you will probably get an increase of about 30 to 40bhp with the filter and decat.

To get to 300bhp, the standard internals would be fine, the cooling is ok but you would need to change the turbo as the td04 is maxed out at around 280-290 bhp. Why not simon? i have an sti 3 with a full decat and that has not been remapped no problems so far.

So with no remap and the full decat on say running 250ish what should i do to get to 280/90? on standard turbo?

Full de-cat with remap and you'll have 280.

i decatted my car 2 weeks ago. the bottom end died within 7 days. no eerie phone call to confirm but i'm pretty confident it was related.

I would doubt the decat had much to do with the failure. Other than you were probably giving it some more to see what difference the decat had made.
IMO and experience a full decat should give no problems.
However i do know how it feels to loose a crank!

Still not sure on the full decat/map,think the safe option seem s to map to make the most of the decat

You should be fine running a de-cat without a re-map but you would see far better results with one.

280 bhp is optimistic though.

Default my power

hi there i have a 99 turbo 2000 and took it to power + engineering last week for a re map. on the base run it did 233bhp and thats with a k&n pannel filter and a cat back magnex 6x4 oval system. After the map it did a impresive 265bhp with 277lb of torque!!! Its worth getting it mapped the car drive so much better now and the lads at power+engineering are great, really helpful and full of advise.
