HI, just wondering if anyone can help me with the re-newal of my drivers side cv boot?My main concern is if there are any torque bolts anywhere i need to undo as i have been told the main hub nut is torqued so not to over tighten and shaft the bearings,if so what strength should it be?also any handy hints that you may have learnt while doing them yourself.Im new to the more technical side of things so an idiot proof guide would help mahooosively.cheerz

the indentation on the hub nut will help you retighten the nut to the exact place it was before hand

i fitted my outer boot from the inside of the shaft
i forced it over the inner joint and pushed it up towards the outer joint, saves SOOOOOOOOO much grief IMO

knock the pin out, pull the shaft away
force boot over, fix boot in position, refit shaft and split pin/dowel thing

legend!,thanks for that i was getting really worried.so doing it from the inner cv is the way to go?so the inner is just held in by a split pin,sounds too easy,sumfin is bound to go wrong!!lol,thanks for your help tho,much appreciated

ive did it both ways

tbh i found it easier doing it from the inside, rather then mess about removing the cv joint and trying to get it back on etc etc

i had to use a bit of force to get the cv boot over the inner joint, you can use a proper cone shaped tool, i just forced it on with a bit of geordie brute stregnth
