Hello m8!

Rigth you have a SS dow pipe now, so I take it you dont give a sod about the warrenty then???.. if that is the case I would suggest the follwoing:

*Link ECU (10 row) there are other choices to fit pocket up or down
*ported headers and up pipe or =length manifold
*Bigger Turbo/Hybrid
*Injectors 550's
*FMIC

I would say budget for around £5k aprox, you already have all the gauges you can see & brakes!!!

I would like to see how your going to keep this one from the other half m8;-)

Paul,

Personally I would stick to unequal length headers!

I have it on good authority that equal length headers can lose a lot of power!! After hearing this, I've gone off the idea!!

Stick with the porting instead! HKS have started to produce 'tuned' headers, which are unequal length, but they are currently not available for our year of cars (MY99/00)

Personally I would say that your first port of call should be BRD!

Hope this helps

Andy,

A good set of tubular headers, whether equal, or unequal, do NOT loose power, they move it, normally up the rpm range.

It's a bit like saying that your big turbo has lost you power !!! low down I'm sure it has, what about higher up the rpm range, where it's designed to work..... then it's

Comments need to be put into context, otherwise it's very easy for people to draw the wrong conclusions.

Mark. Just a "bit" happy with his unequal length headers

Question

Sorry to interrup your topic, but can someone explain to me what porting is and where and how it can be done, does it need special equipment?

greetings from Switzerland

Hi Ric

When you coming back to CH?!

Porting is matching the holes between two components - say, the exhaust output hole from the head with header (manifold) hole. Generally speaking, they do not line up and so you remove metal to smooth the transition between the two sufaces.

Imagine the OE downpipe with it's blanking plate for the wastegate exit - you could call the Scoobysport d/p port-matched to the turbo exit.

I guess it's a pain in the *** to get the headers off (anyone done it themselves? How long?) - but if there's 3 of us Ric, we should get a discount

See-Ya

Hey Richard!

Thanks for your explanation!

I am just sitting in front of the Perth airport departure gate. Will leave in 15min.

I will contact you as soon as I am at home for the parts. I had BIG trouble with them......will tell you the whole story, but we will have to order everything from Switzerland. But it wont affect your order a lot, as we are getting the bars and everything once. So your parts wont have much shipping cost.

speak to you soon
