Gruppe S v2 headers, are a quality made set of headers, good performance gains and retain the burble due to being unequal length.

Be very careful with telling people to ignore what I say fella ....

You are of course the self same person who is telling the world that a load of scooby specialists are ripping people off......?

I was doubting the fact that 25bhp could be gained by changing the headers alone. As has been said headers and their gains can vary massively, some giving small gains some more. It has also been said that porting the original headers with a suitable up-pipe can give gains as good as expensive headers.

Oh and you also dont believe that 60bhp can be made from a re-map but have been proved wrong on that too .....

Standard equal length STi headers as fitted to JDM MY03 onwards cars, think my torque figures say everything

318bhp 356lbs of torque, STANDARD car.

Well that probably helps somewhere but the bhp shouldnt be effected by the headers much as what i understand about it is that the headers give you better torque so long headers normally mean an improvement there (hence JDM STi headers are long and not very wide as you dont need alot of width with them )

My understanding was that the biggest gain was in the torque area with equal length headers too. I could be wrong though.

Thats a big wallop of torque I must admit.

Ive just had some Gruppe S headers fitted not really gained much without a Remap. Car feels slightly better higher up rev range but not a great difference, doesnt sound any different either. Remap needed now.

At what point of the rev range are we talking about on the improvement, 4000rpm 5000rpm?

Has anyone got figures for comparison before & after fitting headers?

Different headers will be better for different set-ups, there is no "one size fits all" best headers. Some will tend to help with high-end power, some with mid range torque. Some will only real show improvements with larger turbos, some work fine with the TD04. Most will need a re-map to see the full effects of the gain.

If you aren't aiming on doing turbo changes, big power etc, you might be as well off with the relative cheap option of porting the original headers.

how much are these headers, and how much trouble would it be to port your own headers

ye obviously couldnt afford it you pez

these are the facts im sure everyone will agree

FACTS
1. you CANT get 60bhp from a sti8 with PPP which has 305ps
2. so that would mean fitting my headers and a panel filter gave me roughly 30bhp 25bhp for headers and 5bhp for filter.

answer me this...

if you could get 60bhp from a remap why are a certain company saying you need a top mount inter cooler, big induction kit and big 3"decat all the way just to get 350bhp??

why dont they just remap it!!??

my intial thread was trying to say look into how you tune your car and research properly as my figures speak for themselves and i didnt need any of the above and despite what alot of people say headers DO work!

Im a peasant your right, but at least my threads make sense ..... According to yours you already had 350bhp and ended up with 357. Wow you must have been impressed ........ Read it again.

Look forward to your reply as always.

Love and kisses

now now children no need for namecalling and such there is no right and wrong answer here, as different headers and re-maps etc will give different gains
