We want to install it to a 2000 WRX (old shape)
I did the same with a regular Ver. 6 Gearbox to my 98 WRX, no problem.
But this is a different issue with a DCCD gearbox, cause there gone be some extra wiring and stuff. And DCCD has just been introduced out here in Switzerland since the 2005 model.
Hope you guys can help.
thanks

My advice, forget the original DCCD Ecu - get this one:
http://www.neetronics.com
The connection to the gearbox is a simple modulated +12V (ground, +12V) signal, located in the wiring loom/connector for the reverse+neutral switches (2 pins unused in the 5MT connector). Be sure to get the polarity right (ground side).
I run this setup in my car (MY98 wagon) - highly recommended!

How was it to install the DCCD?
How much do you have to wire in besides this ecu?
How much more work is this compared to the regular gearbox?
Is it possible to put in a DCCD gearbox and just not connect all that stuff and run it like that?

Regarding last question - yes, you'll jusy get the default 35/65 front/rear torque split which is still better than stock Euro 5MT.
6MT goes in no problem, you just need the shifter assembly and a shorter prop to go with it.

You can run without connecting the DCCD, which I did until this happened:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...60244350940645
...in short, it gets very twitchy on slippery surfaces, so you have to be careful.
To install the Neetronics DCCD unit, you need to connect the following:
DCCD +12V signal
Neetronics +12V power
Speed sensor
Rpm sensor
Foot brake switch
Hand brake switch
Dccd locking can be set in 10% steps, from 0-100%
The controller is also programmable:
Lock % when braking
Lock % above defined % throttle (great for track days)
Low speed override (no lock)
Hand brake override (no lock)
You'll love it

I asume you are installing a 5MT gearbox right? If you are talking about a 6MT box I can only tell you that it is not as easy as it looks. If you want to install a 6Mt into a 98Uk Spec there are more parts needed then if you install it into a 99/00Uk Spec.
About the 5MT DCCD, this might help:

Hi
We seriously need help now.
We just put in the gearbox and encountered some serious problems.
There is no power on the wheels.
The rear wheels do not spin at all and the front one's have almost no power on it.
We did not connect the dccd ecu at all, since thought it should still run.
Please help!!!

No, not at all, but I've just started to collect the parts to do the conversion, starting with a TY 754 VB 1CA box out of a Typr R, and I'm trying to AVOID this kind of issue!
Trying to find an expert on this subject is very hard.
I'm following every move you make!

hmhaga:
I have emailed Neetelectronics, but while I wait:
Do you get all the switches/sensors from them also?
It sounds like the device is just what is needed!
Any damage to the Wagon? The crunch sounded very hard.

Hi guys
@Graham
No that page is not really helping either.
I think we installed the gaerbox correctly. The driveschafts went in quite nicely and there are no unregular noises or anything, we just did not connect the dccd ecu.
The reason why we did not is that we do not know which pin is nr. 1.
Does anybody know???
Please help.

As it looks the rear drive shafts have to be changed too.
The regular diff is an R160 and now it is a R180 with bigger housings.
After that the rear hubs will also have to be changed and I even heard something about the brake calipers.
I do not know why they have to be changed too but still hoping we do not have to make that.
Some really unexpected things popped up.

Dont think they are specific/need to be changed. I've a type r with an R180 back diff and i know that the hubs differ from others. The brakes i'm not sure about but i dont see how they could be specific to the R180. The discs are different from other scoob's but i assumed that was due to the caliper.

Pretty sure one of the scooby specialists would be able to clarify this matter. You could be right Gerry as i've been told before that the whole back end differs from other's. didnt realise this included the brakes aswell though..

Ok.
Due to the R180 diff wee need bigger driveshafts, therefore we need other hubs.
Will we need therefore also other calipers?
The discs would follow the calipers.

You need the bigger hubs for the R180 drive shafts. So, you have a choice of Type R or newage STi. I don't know about Type R but as Doug says, there are at least differences in caliper and disc.
If you go STi, then everything needs replacing.
You could leave the R160 diff in if you're stuck for parts.
