PossumLin vs. PossumlinkPlus
#1
I have an Impreza Turbo(00) that i want to equip with PossumLink but I have some queries about the different versions of PossumLink!
Hpoe that someone can help me sort out the questions I have below....
Does anybody know if there are any differences between the Possumlink and the PossumlinkPlus systems when it comes to programming?
Does the tools needed for tuning the std Possumlink work with the PossumlinkPlus?
Does the possumlinkPlus require any special tuning skills vs the std. Possumlink?
I have read about a version with the Q-chip, is the the same as PossumLinkPlus?

Link Plus is a generic ecu, it requires an additional loom adaptor, if you have a MY99 or 00 car then the version 5 ecu is the same as the Link Plus execpt that the link plus has some extra inputs and outputs built in (twin knock inputs, shift light out put and a trigger for water spray). It has its own built in map sensor being a generic ecu. Mapping is carried out in the same way. Both ecu's are 10 row. Its significantly more expensive than the plug in ecu and you need to add the additional cost of the loom adaptor.

Thanks Bob!
Did I understand you correctly that in my case having a MY00 the Link is a plugin and the Linkplus needs an additional loom adaptor!
What I'm after is to have a good setup for handling the difficulties with mapping the Possumlink without coldstart problems.
So therre is no advantage using the LinkPlus when it comes to handling the Coldstart mapping difficulties?
Thanks again for your input!

Hello!
I'm running a Possum Link in my scoob (along with 4 other of my friends), if you'd like advice, or if you've got any questions, feel free to email me on jerry@impreza.nu
Cheers

Version 5 ecu shouldn't have ANY cold start issues if set up correctly, someone fed you some very old info there.
Both Linkplus and PossumLink version 5 use exactly the same software routines for functionality so in that respect the loom adaptor is the difference. If the Link plus was to be used on a car with a linear motor idle control instead of a stepper motor control then it would have to be fitted with a different internal daughter board thus making it model specific from that respect.
Hi Jerry, still playing I hear, glad its going well for you.

You should hold out for the PC Link due out very shortly for your year, it is fully programmable via laptop computer, which makes on the fly tuning much easier.
They are also making models to suit all EJ20 engines back to 1989.

Evnin Bob!
Playing...who's playing? ...It's going very well....
Just had a small bout with an M3 (e36) stayed with it, even gained on him up to well naughty figures - on a private road I might add.
The car seems a tad stronger than it was from the showroom.
Btw....2 of the "mates" are cars with your map in them...I'm not playing with others cars thank you very much.
My advice to loscooby here would've been to contact U...but...with that kind of attitude I dunno...
Just kidding, will we see your car on the rollers at that "no excuse day"?
Cheers

OK, I wasn't sure if that new computer had flowed through over there yet.
At the moment it is only available for late model Imprezas, but is going to be made available to all single turbo Legacy's and Impreza's back to 1989.
