anyone fitted a dawes boost controller?
#1
Hello all,
This is my first post. I've had my my99 scoob for about 4 months now, and am thinking about upgrades and was wondering if anyone has fitted one of the above controllers. I've read the posts about the group buy and also the web site, but theres not much info on perfomance after fitting.
cheers DWK

Yes, I have
It is very impressive on early cars (I have fitted it to two 94 WRX cars) - decreasing the time the turbo takes to build boost by keeping the wastegate shut. It keeps the boost level stable as well (varies by 0.5psi max).
The best place to look is the U.S. as they have fitted them to a large number of new WRXs - see http://www.i-club.com/
Thanks
Gavin

DWK,
You can fit it yourself fairly easily - once the group buy has received their MBCs, I'm sure people will put up some instructions with photos on how to do it.
You will definitely need a boost gauge if you don't have one already.
If you don't want to do it yourself, the best bet would be to take your car to a tuner with a dyno so they can produce before and after graphs for you as well as monitoring the engine air/fuel mixture.
Thanks
Gavin
