Hi everybody.
Continueing on from my other recent post.
Car: MY98 UK wagon
I eventually got a standard dump valve.
Can someone enlighten me as to fitting please.

Small connection - vacuum.
Intercooler attaches to right connection or bottom connection?
Connection on the right = _______
Connection at the bottom= ________
Also, is the dv meant to be supported by a bracket or anything or is it just supported by the hoses it attaches to?
Appreciate your help on this one guys.
Cheers
Brett

I just spoke to Subaru (Ian at Westaway Motors). He was very helpful.
..and the winner is...charlesk!
I initially had installed it the wrong way round...what would have happened if I had driven the car like that?![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Thankfully I didn't drive it until I got confirmation.
I am so glad that the VTA has gone....it was driving me mad.

Glad you got it sorted mate
Connecting the DV the wrong way around, would of resulted in the DV not "dumping". Depending on what turbo you are running, what boost levels, how hard you drive the car etc, could of resulted in damaging the turbo (over a period of time).

Thanks charlesk.
Standard UK classic turbo running standard boost. Car is driven pretty sedately most of the time..with the odd bit of fun occasionally.
As I wouldnt have been able to hear the 'dumping' what symptoms would I have experienced to know that it was wrong? What would it have been, strange noises or poor performance or something?

Chances are you would of been able to hear the fluttering noise that compressor surge gives(especially if you've got an induction kit)...
Other than that the cars pickup between gear changes might have been a bit slower.
On stock boost it would of taken a fair bit of time to cause damage to the turbo.
