hi, lam after some real noise from my 04 sti ppp, do l have to decat it or will a firestorm back box make it much louder, at the moment l have a ninja back box which is still to quite, please advise, thanks

 

Hi mate, have you still got the resonator in the straight section of the exhaust(the one before the b/box)? got the ninja on mine and it has a nice deep burble and howls like f%&k when giving it some. not a pain on the long trips though, as it was on full decat on my WRX.

The bit he is talking about doesn't have a cat in anyway. Replace this resonator for more noise.

 

I had the full afterburner decat exhaust with ninja backbox and that was real loud. What you're after then would be this (non-resonated).
