Default Just bought a 20g turbo

I've just bought myself a td05 20g for my 03sti.
I've a few questions:

1. I'm going to go with an APS induction kit with it.
Should I use the standard intake pipe or get a one piece Samco one?

2. Should I get a set of tubular headers + uppipe or should I go with ported standard ones?

3. Anything else needed (other than exhaust), or any advice on do's and don'ts?

Cheers

3. Anything else needed (other than exhaust), or any advice on do's and don'ts? Front mount intercooler and a good remap

As above really, I would give Harvey Smith a shout about porting your headers, he'll also wrap them for you and while your at it, it's worth doing
the turbo (exhaust side only though!!) as it will generate a lot more heat.

One other thing, is your gearbox in good state !!!

I ummed and arred over the 20g, but in the end opted for an 18g.

I'm also using the APS CAIK, good piece of kit. lOOking at it, you get a whole new pipe with it, hard pipe, so don't think you even need hose?!

Regarding your headers, depends on where you're going next. If there are future plans, then maybe some GT Spec Gen2 Headers. If this is the final stop on the modding train. The ported standard ones will work well. lOOking at about £400 for ported, wrapped and up-pipe to match. Same as the GT specs.

Oh, and your gearbox will be fine, ignore that one...

Our price for ported and polished wrapped headers, with up pipe, is £190.00 + VAT I believe Harveys are a similar price. A LOT cheaper than tubular headers.

If someone is charging £400 for ported headers it's too much.

If its a non PPP sti then I'd also look at upgrading the fuel pump

If you can stand it read the first 10 pages or so:
https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...e-started.html
That is 380 bhp/360 lbft torque semi slicks and a bog standard Sti v3 gearbox.
It took 3 years of this and is still perfect.
API have just built me a nicer transmission

I believe Harvey's are £370ish but this includes a replacement uppipe which iirc was about £135 so for porting and wrapping the headers its about £200 + VAT (this was about 6 months ish ago)

Harvey, injectors are what's standard on an 03sti.

Pink 510's or thereabouts then. there is an amount of discussion about the size of the pinks and opinion varies from 505 - 510 - 520.

Unless someone knows for sure - someone I trust to know.

So with a 20G you can expect 380-400 or thereabouts and your injectors will be at high IDCs by 400 bhp anyway at standard fuel pressure. The majority of 20g do not make 400.

Harvey is right..380 to 407 depending on RR and weather and all the other variables.
I have 550cc (purple) injectors @ 3 bar.

Great meaty turbo the 20g.

I never said it wouldn't be fine, I asked if it was in a good state.

Any weakness and the 20g will certainly find it with all that torque.
