Default STI V5 Exedy clutch plate problem.

Can anyone help. Just fitted an 230mm Exedy clutch kit to my V5 STI, only to find that the clutch plate(springs) are rubbing against the flywheel bolts. Any ideas ?

Does anyone know the Exedy part number for this Plate.

When I did clutches they had a flywheel and a gearbox side and looking at the pictures the rivets are a different way around and the center sticks out further on the old one than the new so could it be back to front?
Thanks,
Paul.

That was definately the flywheel side, as the other side was much deeper. Thanks.

Have a look at this it may help as there is a part number lookup on the right hand side of the page EXEDY Globalparts Corporation | High Performance and OEM Clutches and Flywheels
Thanks,
Paul.

It appears that those part no's are specific for the U S market. Thanks for trying.

As Alyn says; If you skim the flywheel too far the centre disc clouts the heads of the flywheel bolts themselves. You may get out of trouble if that is the case, by taking off a small amount from the heads of the bolts to gain clearance.

Cheers everyone. The problem was the muppet had sent me the wrong kit. Fjk 2033 instead of Fjk 2022. The clutch plate on the correct kit is further recessed.
