Default high revs when putting foot down

Hi,

When I am driving (MY99), whether it be normal or hard, when I accelerate the engine revs an extra 1k then drops back down and bites then the car goes. This happens all the time, if I am driving in 5th, and a slow down and then put my foot down again it revs up then drops and bites and off I go.

Is this is clutch thing?

Thanks

History:
July - New Cambelt
August - Bailey Dump Value DV10
August - New MAF Sensor

Sounds like the clutch to me. Mine started slipping after 90k so I had my moneys worth.

I would say, mine didn't last very long after the first signs of slipping!!! some go on for ages but mine didn't, only about 500 miles this included a 300 mile trip up to API to have some other work done, so had an exedy one fitted when I was there.

Cool

Alright chap

It would be a good idea to buy a upgraded clutch. AP clutch are good for 400 bhp.

If you look in groupbuy section, Api do a exedy clutch which is so smooth compared to oe clutch, and is capable of handling 400ftlbs.

next one will not take place till match.

Cost for 5 speed roughly £320 plus fitting costs of £200 or
£400 for the 6 speed box and yet another £200 for fitting

Try APP in Sheffield on Edmund road, run by the Ex service manger from Mony's subaru, excellent service and really good prices, alot cheaper than most other specialist in South Yorkshire

Number is 0114 276 8013 or 0798 034 6323

Thanks for they replies, tried a few garages on my way into work and they all looked scared to death when I asked if they did clutch's. Must be a tricky part

I will try APP for sure, but in the mean time, if anyone knows of anyone in the BARNSLEY area that does clutch's, please let me know.

Thanks again..

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I can supply you a brand new standard Exedy clutch kit, which comes with pressure plate, clutch plate and release bearing for £155 + p&p.
I would also recomend you get the flywheel skimmed or you may get judder. i can supply a skimmed flywheel for £50 + p&p exchanged with yours.

Hope thats of some help.

Called Paul at APP, and he came picked the car up, fixed and dropped back off the next day, plus a valet, and replaced 2 bulbs, all in price.

FANTASTIC service, I cannot recomend APP enough.

Thanks.
