I have one on my MY98 WRX. Came on the car when I bought it.

Its an open neck 3" downpipe that I mated to a custom 3" - 2.5" centre section.

Passes the test ok and when AndyF mapped it he seemed to think that it wasnt restricting my car.

I did think about changing it a while back but dont want the hassle of changing the centre everytime I have it tested. Also, Graham (911) had one on his STI V4 and didnt see much difference when he changed it to a decat downpipe. Thats at 407BHP too!!

The cat is actually not much better than a std one in my view, least the three latest ones I have come across haven't been. Make sure you fit a genuine 100 cell one if you go for it.

cheers

Mine is stamped N100 if that relates to the cell size.

N100 probably does, the Z-Sports one when compared visually with a std one looked pretty similar. Also their habit of fitting rotating bits in the mid and back sections only serves to act as a power reducer when it all seizes up, been there seen that on the same two cars !!!

I have sold my '407' bhp decat 3'' and I'm looking for a good '407bhp' sports cat 3''.
The Ninja and Zero dp's just look too small in dia to have a good gas flow with even a 100 cell cat.
The Milltec unit is very plump and short, so is the TSL, but the latter is a 3 to 2'' dp so no good IMO, though i could weld a 3'' short pipe to the dp, bit messy though.(my welding!)

The only real contender seems to be the H&S 3'' 100 cell dp who were the first to clame the '2bhp loss' sports cat.
I'm going to the Autosport trade day so hope to find the right one there, but would welcome any thoughts!
Graham
