Is the 3inch round STi 'STi Embossed' backbox the same as the Prodrive 'Prodrive Embossed' backbox, with just different embossing ?

Nope. As I understand it the STi one is the same as the UK model's nasty little twin pipe affair just with a different end piece.

The Prodrive badged ones are the WRSport/PPP ones which are louder, liberate a couple of horses and improve driveability
